Matthew Smith
Welcome

Matthew Smith attended West Stanly High School. While in high school, he developed a passion for CAD tools, lab test equipment, and other design tools. In high school, he completed various courses in mechanical drafting, architectural drafting, electronics, and computer engineering technology. He was a member of the Science Club and the Junior Engineering Technical Society (JETS) Club. This experience prepared him for his college career.

Matthew began his college career at Stanly Community College in Albemarle, NC. He was enrolled at Stanly Community College for 4 semesters. He then transfered to the William States Lee College of Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.  He is working towards earning a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.  At UNC Charlotte, he is a member of student IEEE chapter.

Matthew's goal is to obtain an internship position in the field of Electrical Engineering utilizing his skills and experience to further the goals of the organization while contributing to his own personal and professional development.

Matthew enjoys working with computers and new technology. He has recently started learning about web development in his spare time.

Matthew is an Eagle Scout.  He achieved the rank of Eagle while he was a member of Troop 63 from Locust, NC.  For his Eagle project, he held a can food drive; the can food items were donated to the West Stanly Christian Ministries in Stanfield, NC.  Scouting has taught Matthew to be trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
